My new friends...

Here are some of the girls I've been hanging out with! The girl on my right with my new "do" is my hairdresser-she was such a doll and did such a wonderful job!
I miss my friends...Sigh...

Wet and Wild in Ohio!!!

It is nothing but wet here! It started around 4 and hasn't stopped. Literally, a torrential downpour! Thunder that shakes the windows and lightening that lights up the entire sky; Dad, this is your kinda weather!
The game started at seven but was delayed until tomorrow, in which they'll play a double header starting at 10:35 (it's education day at the park, kids everywhere, maybe the cutest thing you've ever seen) But in the 2 innings that they DID get in, Beau hit a double which I was stoked about : )
The team takes off Friday morning and so Sadie and I are road trippin' it to see Aunt Abbey in Michigan!
And sorta sad/good news...Shannon Wright is up in Columbus with her husband which is very exciting but I miss her terribly. Audrey Goedert, who just got here and she thought she's be here the rest of the summer, just got a call today that she was hired for a new job so she's going home Friday. Britney Tomlin, I think is going to get a job she interviewed for in Texas and will only be here a short while longer...These girls are dropping like flies!!! BUT that IS the baseball way and it's just the way it is!
And everyone's favorite pooch, here with her new chew toy, a baseball. Pretty adorable : )

Yay Beau!!!

In case you guys missed it, I'll enlighten ya'll of the events of yesterday evening...The game was tied. 6-6. Bottom of the 9th. 2 outs. Two men on base. Beau walks to the plate. Ball one. Strike one. Strike two. We watch and hear the crack of the bat and our eyes follow the ball as it is hit into right field. Man on third scores. WE WIN!!! Walk off single : ) Beau and the team were very excited, now tied in the series 1-1 against the #2 team in the league (we're numero uno). Am I proud? Wow, if you hadn't noticed, I am extremely proud!

what a shot!!!

Holy Crap!!! I hope you all were watching game 2, the Cavavliers vs Magic in the NBA Finals. WOW!!! Lebron James make a 3-point buzzer shot to win the game 96-95 and it was such an incredible game!!!!
The man is straight-up amazing...
Tonight, it was firework night at the ballpark and boy were they good...they lifted all us baseball ladies spirits as our boys suffered a tough loss and beau had a rough game. he is frustrated, so pray for clarity and for him to just go out there and play, not to think about it too hard.
Had another fun night with the girls, a wife I've never met is coming into town late tonight and i have heard nothing but great things about her and i can't wait to meet her ; )

another beautiful day...

shannon and i have been back in akron for a couple days now. we've had movie parties, american idol parties, gone job hunting and had croissant sandwiches and french pressed coffee at her apartment this morning : ) it's been a lovely couple of days. however, we both are very excited to have our husbands home tonight. they're in trenton, nj and have about a 7 hour drive home...it is perfect weather here-mid 70s to low 80s...sadie has been seriously digging this weather as have i!

So, Miranda, Shannon and I are on a roadtrip to Altoona! We listened to an audiobook on the way here (one of the greatest inventions of all time, seriously). it rained during the day but cleared up to get the first game in and toward the end of the game, the field was covered with fog! it was bizarre.
we decided to take miss sadie on the trip-don't think i'll do that ever again...not that she's not doing good but the hotel doesn't accept pets so we are sneaking her and out to go to the bathroom and i have been terrified of getting caught. yesterday, two maids saw me and sadie but were SO nice-they said "oh we don't care! we love dogs! they just changed the policy last year" and then they proceeded to talk to me about their dogs for the next 10 minutes! so after that i felt a little bit better...
also, i chopped over 10 inches of my hair off! it feels wonderful and healthy and i really love it : ) beau, however, i think is still adjusting to the new "do"...

Our Family Album

In honor of Mother's Day, (hope both my mom's, all my grandma's, and aunts had wonderful days because they are all absolutely incredible women) I thought I'd take some pictures of me and my family since i am technically a mother; a mother to our precious baby girl miss sadie lady!

you asked, i deliver

many of you (namely my father and mother) have requested a picture of beau's shaved head. and finally i have snapped a couple of photos. as you know, beau does not like getting his picture taken and he did not go easy. as you will see, he made a face in every shot i took. typical. another thing i am really excited about (note: that last statement is dripping with sarcasm), beau bought a playstation and has been attached at the hip with it since he's gotten home. again, i am absolutely thrilled....on a lighter topic, there are three or four new girlfriends/fiances in town this weekend and they're all wonderful and we're having an excellent time! yay for new friends : )

Dutchland!

oh where to begin!!! it's tulip time in holland, mi and the city is busting at the seams with tourists! the weather has been picturesque while we've arrived and the tulips and trees are all in full bloom. tulip time is a week full of activities celebrating dutch heritage and traditions including: dutch dancers, organ and piano concerts, dutch church services, trolley tours, and people dressed in authentic dutch clothing everywhere you turn. we picked grandma wilma up today and took her to the Windmill Restaurant where we all had yummy omlets and enjoyed some lovely conversation. next, we were off the Windmill Island. Windmill Island features a 240 year old working Dutch windmill "De Zwaan" (meaning graceful bird). it came all the way from the netherlands and is an original! in front of the windmill was a dancing/singing group from the netherlands called the Moederleet. they performed 5 or 6 songs and were pretty cute-i think it was a highlight for gma, she has been on a mission to see the Moederleet ever since we arrived in holland! and her other mission was an Elephant Ear. we had never heard of them before but people here have been raving about them so we ventured on over to a vendor and sunk our teeth into hot cinnamon and sugar deliciousness! quite scrumptious they were, and i couldn't resist takin' a pic of gma with the Elephant Ear...as you can see we've had quite the adventure so far and have been having a truely wonderful time.

what i've been doin'...

in holland, michigan and loving every single second of it!!!...after a great time in akron with my mother and father-in-law (so so great to see them, i love them so much, i am SO lucky to have such incredible in-laws), my mom and grandma flew in and went to two games before we road tripped it to michigan. it's tulip time here and every where we turn there are stunning flowers in every color. abbey and jake came out to visit us and we hung out and chatted for a while...the weather is absolutely perfect. about 63 and crisp. sadie and i have been taking some walks to the beach and she's been making some new friends in the neighborhood : ) tomorrow, we're going to church and then having all the cousins over for lunch. the menu: hamburgers, brats, salad, fruit and some good company! i hope beau can make it out to the michigan house sometime this year. he loves it here, it's a great getaway from the grind of baseball...

AND matt laporta was pulled up to the big leagues yesterday! i talked to his wife dara today and she and his parents had just landed in detroit for the game. i turned on the tv and put the game on and there was matt, sittin' in the dug out-so weird!!! i can only hope and pray that beau will be there soon. congrats matt and dara : )

also, welcome home papa!!! he just got back from cambodia. he was there for about 10 days and think he had a wonderful time. papa, we're taking good care of your wife-she's a trooper!
