oh and in case you didn't know...

beau got ejected from the game before we went fishing and here is a picture that kinda captures the moment...

fishing extravaganza

sunday was a day game and so we had the early evening into the night to do whatever we wanted. beau is on a fishing
kick as of late and so his i
dea was to go to a local lake, rent a pontoon boat and fish the night away. it was such a great time; just so nice to get on the lake and cruise at dusk, watch the sunset and enjoy the scenery. i read while beau fished off the back of the "party barge" but was unlucky. not even a bite! but we had a wonderful sunday evening together.

back to the grind

about two weeks ago, beau and i put sadie in the wag-on-inn and took off to erie, pa for a 4 day series before flying to trenton, nj for the all-star game. we had a wonderful time; it was almost like a vacation for me because i got out of akron and didn't have to worry about the dog. we got to see mom and dad mills and matt, beau's agent in trenton. the game was great, packed and beau got to play the entire game. they all kinds of fun things planned for the players and their families like a dinner cruise down the delaware river and food and drink in the hotel after the all-star game.

i flew into los angeles and jake and abbey picked me up and we took the lovely, scenic drive back into visalia. and i got to see my house!!! i haven't been there for about 6 months and it was a very very good feeling to be home, sleep in my bed, use my kitchen, watch my t.v. beau was a little bit sad he couldn't be there with me...alli's wedding was beautiful and she was a gorgeous bride!...i had a food and wine party with karl and lauren, eric and katelyn, jeff and meghan, renee and abbey and jake. we had a blast and finally broke in some of the games we got for the wedding!

there was some not so good news as well. grandma harry is not doing well but we are praying hard and have a strong faith and hope in our Lord that whatever happens is His Will. they're going to take her to san diego for a couple days, which is her all-time favorite trip along with everyone else in the family. i'm thinking about flying in for a couple days as well, i'd would love more than anything to be with her and the family in one of our favorite places.

i picked sadie up yesterday and she seemed not herself yesterday but finally is adjusting to being back in the apartment and not with 10 other dogs every second of the day. the woman who worked there told me she was the smallest and the youngest but was the biggest bully!!! how funny is that?! oh miss sadie, why am i not surprised?! i'm glad to have her back and i'm taking her to pick beau up from the ballpark; she'll be thrilled to see him!

Randomness...

Beau bought a pipe and i snapped some pics of him lighting up outside and taking a couple puffs
: ) what a goof!

AND what you've all been dying to see, THE WAG-ON-INN!!! our little princess is hangin' out there for a week while we're away. she was SO excited and was loving on and playing with all of the other dogs.

Hope and Faith

We love you Grandma and Grandpa. Stay strong and know that the Lord is Good.

Psalms 39:7

"But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.

Psalms 43:5
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Hebrews 6:10-11
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.

1 John 3:3
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,[a]we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

la familia comes to visit!!!

the vannette's came 'round our parts this last week for a couple days. it was so nice to see them all; i don't think i realized how much i missed them. they stayed right down the road and we got to take sadie for a big walk one morning and go to this MASSIVE mansion where we took a tour through the 64,000 square foot home and pranced through the gardens : ) the picture of that random woodland creature would be a woodchuck we found in the gardens and chased for a while ha ha
they LOVED being able to watch beau play and he kicked some serious butt while they were there! we went to nice lunches and dinners and just had a wonderful time. i love you guys so much and i'm so excited to see you again in a week for alli's wedding!!!

happy 4th of july!!!

It's times like these I wish people were NOT allowed freedoms such as 'dressing any way they want' ha ha ha! Hope these put a smile on your face and let's remember how lucky we are to be living with so much freedom. Have a WONDERFUL 4th everyone!

oink oink

ribs ribs ribs!!! shannon, brittney and i meandered downtown and found ourselves staring and 10 ribs stands, all with lines so long i couldn't believe. we walked up and then back down, trying to decide which one sounded the best. what helped with our final decision was a middle-aged man, licking his fingers, saying "get cowboys, mmmm mmmm mmmm, cowboys is good". we got
cowboys ribs. they were finger lickin' good!!! now,

shannon doesn't eat any meat but chicken. A SIN! we give her heck for it. she has never in her life, tried a rib before. we tried to convince that she
needed to just have a little taste but she wouldn't budge. so, in this picture, we like to say she's flirting with the bbq man to see if he can grill her up some chicken ha ha! she ended up getting a chicken gyro that she said was the best chicked she's had in her life. next, we got sweet corn with lots of butter and shannon got a twist cone. we moved down to the live band and hung out for about an hour, people watching and letting our food digest. it was a GREAT evening!

i'm singin' in the rain

sadie and i took our nightly stroll in the rain!!! it was crazy cloudy when we began, it started to get misty and then a down pour! it was fabulous, refreshing and washed away some of the stress i've been feeling...and sadie was in her living glory, prancing around, gettin' muddy : )
i babysit tomorrow and saturday. tomorrow night, the girls who are around are going downtown to the annual july 4th weekend rib fest! yummy!!! we get to sample different ribs all night long at different booths, it should be great.

shannon and i saw 'My Sister's Keeper' yesterday. WARNING: it is one on the saddest movies i've ever seen! bring a box of tissues!
the fam is in michigan and coming to see us next week-we are so excited to see them!

brad and ronda were able to get to see beau the last two days on the road; it's so great that they've been able to see him play so much this year; i only wish i were able to go on some of the trips too! i miss mom and dad mills : (
