Post Isaac Effects

We ventured over to Pensacola Beach this afternoon to check out the raging ocean and see if any damage had been done. There is a bridge to the beach and it had been closed and everyone on the island had evacuated due to the hurricane. Since they opened it back up, there were lots of locals checking it out and taking walks on the pier and the beach. You most definitely don't want to be body surfing in this!

It's here!!!

Hurricane Isaac is reaching land as we speak. We are not directly in it's path but are certainly feeling the effects. It's dumping on us and the winds are up to 30 mph. We are also under flash flood and tornado watch. This is quite pathetic but we are still in our pajamas, taking naps throughout the day because we got in at 3 am this morning! Today and tomorrow should be a whole lotta rain and wind but I don't think too much real damage.

Daddy-Daughter Outing to Bass Pro

We are staying literally next door to a Bass Pro Shop and across the street to the ball park. While I got a fabulous run in, Beau took Kensie to do a little window shopping at his favorite store. Needless to say, I think she had a good time : ) Pool pics are from yesterday afternoon.
As for Isaac, it looks to be a Category 2 hurricane now and headed right toward Pensacola. We are thinking we will stay here Tuesday night; and if it's really bad, the team will too. Wednesday is an day off so we have all day to drive back if the last series of the season is still a go.

Tropical Storm Isaac

Not sure if you have seen the news or read in the paper but there is a really big storm headed toward the Gulf and straight at Florida. Beau leaves tomorrow on a 5 day road trip and we have decided to pack the apartment and that we would go with him. If the storm turns into a hurricane or just a really bad storm, there is a chance that they would cancel the last home stand of the year. We will be home a week early if that happens and if not, better safe than sorry! I will keep you posted!
We are having the best time with mom and dad here. I think dad has officially adopted the island lifestyle ha ha Enjoying the last few days in Florida!

What a rough life...

Enjoyed a lovely day in the sun! And a more important note, Emily had to have an angiogram this morning and her heart looks PERFECT! Such an answer to prayer! We love you missy! Now, leave so you can start a fabulous new chapter in college!

Papa and Yaya are here!!!!

After a couple hectic and overwhelming days, mom and dad made it to Pensacola around 11 last night. They made a pit stop at our apartment to say hi and we are so happy we get to see them this week!!!! Beau's big draft was last night so while he focused on getting a really great team, I focused on a really great movie, The Hunger Games! After mom and dad left, I finished the movie and Beau hit the sack.
We were up and off to Margaritaville this morning for breakfast and some serious hang out time. Kensie disappeared for 3 minutes and I found her in the tub, no diaper and conditioner all over her hands so a bath it was : )
Before dropping Beau off, we ate lunch at McGuire's. Soooo good.
Now, an afternoon of naps and phone calls before the game. It's been raining all day here but should be nice the rest of the week we hope!

A crabby toddler

What do you do when your 2 year old has been whining all morning? Take her to the mall of course!!! Mommy needed some serious retail therapy. We stopped at Starbucks, got a cake pop and a coffee and then found Kensie a really cute duck balloon. And what always seems to make my day better? A new pair of running shoes! Ah, one happy girl : ) I also bought some new workout clothes for my expanding belly. Some of my older stuff was just gross so I threw it out. Beau had a great night going 3-4 and this morning is catching up on some recorded pre-season football and preparing for his first fantasy football draft which happens tomorrow night. The storms here have been crazy; almost 2 a day for the last week! But very fun : ) hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Beau!

My wonderful husband turns 26 today. So very young! He's home, opposed to on the road, for the first time in 3 years. So happy we got to celebrate with you babe; we love you so much! I made banana and blueberry pancakes for the birthday boy and he opened his gift from us. We had a very nice morning together before I dropped him off. We just got home and the sky looks like this. Scary! I think we will be staying in until day care at the gym opens!
