Little Miss Sadie joined my dad and me on the couch and we all enjoyed some MLB baseball, as you can see she is quite cozy. A tad spoiled perhaps? I can't imagine our own daughter....And today was the big day for Lizzy! We left for Calvin College around 9:00 am and went to register for classes and check out where she'd be living for the next year. Just got home and it's around 5:00 pm. It was a very full day! We swung by Target to get some goods for her dorm, and by that time I was a little worn out. I needed to take a little break on a Target couch and put my feet up. Lizzy's roommate comes tomorrow and I think there will be a lot of hustle and bustle on campus tomorrow. Her suite mates seemed very very nice and I think Liz is going to great...She's all grown up!

Goodbye Akron!!!

Well, Dadda Babba flew in on Saturday afternoon and got to see some great baseball last weekend. It was the last home stand in Akron, OH before the boys headed off to Trenton, NJ and then Erie, PA where they end the season with an 8 day road trip. We got all packed up and I cleaned the heck outta our apartment. Said goodbye to the great friends I've made this year, gonna miss you Cat!!! And of course, to my buddy Jack, who was always there to great us with a smile and a chit chat : ) And then yesterday after the game we were off! Got into Holland, MI around 10:30 pm last night and slept great. We rode bikes this morning to the little store on the corner for eggs and creamer. It's hot out, humid already. Gonna take Miss Sadie for a walk to the beach later. Mom and Lizzy fly in tonight and then Abbey. Jake and Matt come in on Wednesday. SOOOOOOO excited!!

Went in for an ultrasound this morning, week 33. Baby looks fantastic! She's measuring about 4 lbs 11 oz and still has lots of growing to do. She's head down and everything checks out great. Check out the lips on our girl!! Beau's top and my bottom=giant lips ha ha ha

Rain Rain Go Away

I keep telling myself, as do all the players and wives on our team I am sure, that this season could not get any worse or any longer.  I am finding this to be extremely untrue...Saturday, we were scheduled to play one game. It got rained out after a 2 hour delay and the boys had to play a double header on Sunday before getting on the bus and driving six hours. So, instead of arriving at 11 pm, they got in at 3 am. Then they got up and went to the field for another scheduled double header yesterday. Well, they got 1 game in until the heavens opened up and decided to flood to entire field. And thus, tonight they have yet ANOTHER double header scheduled. Only problem is, it's supposed to rain all night!!! Please please pray for the rain to hold off and for our boys to get their games in!
UPDATE: The Lord has heard my pleas and it looks like the storm that was supposed to hit Bowie, MD has passed!!!

Today was almost like a fall day..

It is 68 out right now, with a light breeze and cloudy. I had to wear a SWEATER out tonight. AND I didn't have to run my AC the entire day! Just left my windows wide open to get some fresh air...Oh how I am looking forward to fall, it has been so humid here this summer and I've sweat like you wouldn't believe. I guess that is due, in part, to me being pregnant. Word to the wise, avoid being pregnant in the summer time if at all possible...

oh my we're gettin' close...

We are 2 weeks from coming home!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well if you want to talk technicalities it's 17 days, but it makes me feel better to say 2 weeks so we'll stick with that....This is my second to last home stand, which is really weird to think about, but oh the excitement I am feeling. Dad'll be here before I know it and then off to Michigan to see everyone and I am so anxious to see you guys! Baseball-wise, we are actually contending for a playoff spot and these next two series will be the final determiner in whether or not Beau will stay for a bit longer...we shall see. Trying to stay positive and upbeat, send out a prayer for us to truck through these next weeks with good attitudes!

Saturday Morning Snuggles

After an early morning of golf yesterday, Beau and I decided to sleep in a little bit this morning : ) We were woke up by the FedEx man delivering Beau a birthday package from Mama and Papa Mills! And we have been watching the PGA golf tournament, Beau working on his fantasy football draft and me perusing online looking at baby stuff...Beau and Sadie took a little nap on the floor and the other picture is Beau modeling his new shirt from his mom and dad. And yes, he IS that good looking...

Name Update

Yes, Tina Tina, we have FINALLY picked a name!!! I apologize to my readers for not letting you know the final consensus. As of now, our baby girl is going to be named Kensie Jae Mills. Beau was extremely picky (that is a huge understatement, he hated everything) We thought it was unique without being too over the top or weird and she just seems like a Kensie. Her middle name, Jae, is for you Dad. Philip J Vannette, she will share the same middle name, with a slight spelling tweak : ) ....I'm thinking it's not going to change, but you can never say never! It's so nice to be able to call her by name, I am a week shy of 8 months. Pretty unbelievable how quickly it goes. I've been VERY lucky and have loved loved being pregnant. However, I'm sure I won't be singing the same tune around week 38 ha ha

A gift from France

We got a little package this morning from Ma and Pa containing a gift for Kensie Mills and Beau Beau. How cute is this?! How precious, daddy and baby can match!! Only about two weeks til Grandpa Phil comes out to visit and pack us up before a short trip to Michigan and then home. So excited!!

The Rover is no more.

Well, we handed over the keys of our Rover today for good. I got to follow behind Beau and got to drive it one last time to the dealership. She drove like a dream and I will miss her dearly. RIP The Rover

Oh what a good day!

Fabulous day today with my great friend Cat : ) We left around 11 this morning for this great outdoor shopping center and then to a fantastic mall. We hit up Aveda Salon first because my bang trim yesterday was sort of a disaster and I decided to just pull the trigger and get full on bangs. And I REALLY like them. So, I walked into Aveda hoping they'd take me really quick and they could. $5 later we were on our way to Nordstrom Rack where we both were successful with a couple little tops. Next, a bite to eat at CPK...YUM....After lunch, we were off to the mall, to Nordstrom where I found two awesome gifts for Beau Beau and I can't wait to give them to him! Cat wanted to hit up Sephora for some new makeup and then we just kinda wondered the mall for a while. Just got home, and feel like I had a very successful day! So fun! Cat my dear, I don't know what I'd do without you : ) You are a God-send!!

Road trips...

I am getting really good at road trips. After the first month of every season, one adjusts quite nicely to their spouse being gone every other week. With great friends and a little side job, the week actually starts to go pretty quickly. Today really went fast: work from 9am-1pm, got my hair did and then a mani-pedi with Cat and finished it off with dinner at a little sushi place! And tomorrow, off to a great mall to look for the perfect birthday gift for my husband, he'll be 24 on August 15th! Gotta find him somethin' good....

30 Weeks!

Officially 30 weeks pregnant today and feeling very good. I still can sleep pretty good through the night, not too tired, my heart burn has gone away and I'm not a swollen beast yet! My feet get sore a lot faster than they used to but nothing to complain about. Papa, these pics are for you!

It's August and we're thrilled

Yay!!! Officially August which means only 4 weeks left of this baseball season, it's been a long hard one this year, and we get to come home! Last night we were talking in bed and are just so stinkin' excited for our little girl to get here. We have 2 names that we like, Beau actually doesn't hate them which is HUGE since he despises most names I suggest. I am leaning toward one more than the other but love both of them. Maybe we'll let Beau make the final decision, we shall see...They are gone for 6 days and I'm already a little lonely. Got a couple things planned toward the back end of the trip but the first days might be a little slow. It's raining here now and is supposed to keep raining for the next couple of days so that limits the things I can do. Perhaps another trip to Michael's to see what kind of craft I can get my hands on....But this is the second to last long road trip and we were both very happy about that!

Last night, Omar, Cat, Beau and I treated ourselves to a delicious Hibachi dinner, the place where they cook Japanese food in front of you. The guy who was cooking for us kept giving me extra food saying, "This for baby, some more for baby." He was so funny! We had a blast, and then decided to keep the good times rollin' with a margarita at this great little Mexican joint down the road. What a fabulous night we had! And today, Beau's off golfing a new course and the pooch and I are gonna take a long walk and I might catch some sunshine by the pool. Baby loves the sun : )
